Over the weekend we received a new book from Scholastic to review called Zoe’s Room (No Sisters Allowed) by Bethanie Deeney Murguia. I have to say this is a super cute book. My daughter and I both really enjoyed the story.
Zoe is Queen of the Universe. Where is she Queen of the Universe? Well in her own room of course, which is the whole universe to her. In her room after her mom tucks her into bed she turns the light on and has tea parties, builds empires out of blocks, and gazes at the stars out of her window.
Well one day her sister Zoe has outgrown staying in her parents room and moves in with Zoe. Well Zoe tried really hard not to disturb her sister and many nights of her sister crying, until one night that it changed. A thunderstorm had brought the two little sisters closer and Zoe had named her little sister the little Queen. So their is two Queen’s ruling the Universe.
The book is geared towards kids ages 3 – 5 and is available for purchase.

My daughter and I really enjoyed the story. I thought it was a fun twist of a girl having to share a room with her sister. It shows you that two sisters can become the best of friends. The graphics in the story are fun and catchy and go with the story very nicely. Zoe herself is a fun loving, spunky little girl. Zoe reminds me of my daughter. Only difference between Zoe and my daughter is that Brittany has two brothers and no one to share her room with.
I would also like to share with you some activity pages you are welcome to download.
