Wordless Wedensday – Knock Knock!

We had a little vistor one day and I took this picture with my camera phone through the window so it’s not really clear. It’s a little woodpecker. Had no idea we had any of them around here. I don’t think I have seen him since.

LOL Amy! It wasn’t the clearest and almost blended in with the trees too. I have to look it up one of these days and see what kind of bird it is exactly.

Me too I love watching the birds. Going to have to get some bird feeders to draw some new ones in. However we have squirrels here who love the bird food. LOL

We hear them all the time in our backyard but rarely can spot one. A couple of weeks ago there was one on a lower branch of a gum tree. The kids and I were fascinated and we watched him for about 1/2 an hour. Amazing how violently they bang their little heads against the tree…and keep going and going and going.

It’s something else to watch them. Wonder if they ever get a headache from all that banging. You would think their beak would hurt. LOL It’s not one I see around alot. I do see a cardinal every now and then. Most sparrows and robins around here.
