Wordless Wedensday – Big Snow Storm

Author: Well we have our first big snow storm of the year. We have had Blizzard warnings since yesterday and it’s still wicked out there. We are even seeing a little bit of a mix. Lots of wind. The power went out several times last night and this morning was out for a little while. The tree across the street snapped down. My birch tree branches are hanging very low and I pray they don’t snap off. When I go out there this morning to do my snow totals I will take some pictures.
In case your wondering why I am doing snow totals I am a volunteer weather observer for the National Weather Service. I report all snow totals and rain totals. I love doing it but hate the bitter cold and below zero days. We are suppose to get any where between 8 – 14 inches.
Yesterday afternoon before the storm really got into full force it snowed about two inches. I took Brittany outside to play in the snow. This is her first snow that she could actually go out and play in. She had so much fun. I took three videos they are all on youtube. I’m going to take pictures of our neighborhood later today. It is nasty here. As much as I want it to stop, I want Alex to have the night off too!

I am loving how pretty it looks out there. The snow is heavy thought we have to shovel the end of the driveway and the corner so when Earl gets home he can snow blow. The corner is going to be the hardest. I can’t wait to see your pictures.
What a cool volunteer job!! That would be very interesting! I remember my first two loved the now for their first time, but my last kid did not. She would just stand there and whine.

Brittany really enjoyed it Vickie. Dakota when he was little loved to play in the snow he would ask for cups of snow and literally play with it in the house. I would thought that it would be too cold to play with. LOL Isn’t it great when they love to be outside.
