Tuesday’s All About Kids – My oldest!

Sorry I am a little late today. I have been working on Girl Scout stuff this morning and did some cleaning. I apologize for getting this up so late.

I don’t have any pictures to share with you today. We are getting a snow storm but nothing big. Lots of blowing and drifting. They say 3 – 6 inches and I can’t get an accurate measurement with all the blowing. School did not close.

I am going to talk about my oldest today. Brad has been showing in interest lately in learning how to cook. This weekend he learned how to make scrambled eggs and I must say he did a pretty good job cooking them. He also learned how to make bacon and he didn’t burn it. It was nice and brown and crispy and not burnt.

In high school he plans to take Foods as he wants to pursue learning how to cook. I love the fact that he is showing an interest. The next step is to show him how to make a cake and frosting from scratch. I am hoping that him and I can do that on Sunday.

The only sport right now I hear him talking about going into in High School is Cross Country. Which I think is fantastic. I ran cross country in high school. I think he we be awesome at soccer. Brad was always very good at soccer. He doesn’t think he is any good which I think he is nuts. He is awesome in soccer.

I think when he was in Basketball it really discouraged him to play in sports. I think some of the kids were really rude and really put him down and he hangs on to that. Which sucks.

MckLinky is not working. It is set to start PM. Glad to hear about Brad cooking. I think all men should know how. Even if he doesn’t follow it further. I also did Cross Country in High School. I loved it.
Well no snow over here yet. It is suppose to come in tomorrow morning. They are talking 6-12 inches.

I really wish we did get more snow then what we did. They say tonight to watch out for blowing and drifting. I am sure the kids will have school tomorrow. They only have a half day. I wonder why my link is not working. Sorry about that. Cross Country is fun at least you get to see different scenery.

Good for Brad. I hope we have the new Sam Choy on our hands. One of the things I’ve always regretted is not being able to cook well. I hope he pursues it big time :)

With Brad you never know. He likes learning how to cook and stuff. We talked a little bit about culinary schools but I forgot what his response was about that. To much perfection I think he says. He under estimates himself. I really believe if he set his mind to it he could do it.

Great to have a son that wants to learn how to cook… My big boy is into that too.

It’s so much fun to watch them cook and learn new things.

My son started cooking eggs first too. That was about a year or so ago. Now he cooks quite a bit and watched the Food Network all the time. I just got him the DVD of Alton Brown’s Good Eats and you’d think I got him the newest video game before it hit the stores.

Wow that is awesome your son is into cooking like that. I don’t think Brad will watch Food Network just yet. It will be neat to see what he makes up along our cooking journey. After the cake I need to ask him what the next thing is we are making.

Kids can be so mean. I hope he does find something he loves to do. Cooking is great. My mom made us learn how to cook so we knew how to prepare a decent meal when we were on our own. I think that is really important and often over looked with guys. My husband knew how to boil water and that was about it…he also put dish liquid in the dishwasher when we were dating, lol. Thankfully, he’s come a long way since then. But with no girls in the house his mom always did it all and he didn’t even know how.

My husband is the same way. If I told you how he tried to make mac and cheese you would be dying of laughter. He is learning. hehe.

Kids can be so cruel sometimes. I still haven’t enrolled my son in sports yet. I’m trying to find a schedule that would fit my work schedule.

They sure can. I hope Brad decides later to go out for sports.
