The Plans I Have For You Devotional and Journal Review and Giveaway

The Plans I Have For You Giveaway

The Plans I Have For You Devotional is a 90 day devotional written by best selling children’s book author Amy Parker and illustrated by Vanessa Brantley-Newton. This set teaches and inspires kids to dream about their future, to focus on faith, love and joy, and recognize that God has a plan and purpose for each and every one of us.

We did receive The Plans I Have For You Devotional and The Plans I Have For You Journal for this review.

This set has been amazing. It prompts critical thinking and exploration of the talents and personalities that make us special, and then helps explore how God may use our unique traits to spread love and joy and make the world a better place.

My son and I were able to use this 2 – 3 times a week since we received the set. I was actually blow away at just the first day. We have been struggling to figure out what is my son has wanted to do in his future. The first devotion is about what we think God’s plans are. My son said it was to become a T-Shirt designer and game designer. This is the first time in a long time he actually finally had an interest in something. So we he said this I was actually excited. He drew games and a shirt in the first section. From there on forward it opened up us to some really great discussions.

It doesn’t take much time to work through these devotions. The only amount of time it takes is the thinking and writing. I love the fact that it incorporates drawing and doodling into the journal. I also like how it gives them a chance to reflect on what they have learned from the devotion and what they really feel.

My son is not a big fan of working on Bible studies. He loves his Sunday school at church, but this is the first time he has actually willingly got into a devotional and journal like this. The devotions are short and they repeat it in the journal. It really does spark critical thinking and has helped him see some of his talents. Also it has made him think about talents that he would be interested in as well. For him this is a very big step. The book is also very colorful and engaging in it’s pictures so it does keep kids engaged. It did my son as he loves color.

I love the journal makes them reflect and think as well. It makes the child think about the devotion itself and how it applies to their life. For example, Have you ever felt God directing you, teaching you what is best? If yes how? If you haven’t, how do you think you can better listen for direction. If you look at that question and take it in as if, are you listening to God??? If not how do you better listen…his answer was to pray and have conversations with God. Another answer was to write a letter to God in a journal.
