Update on Dakota

Well I have been waiting to write my update and I finally heard from the neurologist. The EEG was normal and actually looked good and there was a possibility of Dakota being weened off his seizure medicine. Well since he had a seizure that’s not an option anymore. They are raising his seizure med now. We will have another EEG in a year.

Things with Dakota have been really tough lately. I thought things were going well for a while and then well we take a step ahead and fall two steps behind. The last week or two has been rough. There are times mornings are difficult as he doesn’t want to get ready for school. There are many little temper flare ups. Lots of screaming and yelling and what feels like talking back.

911 Call and Major Hysteria

Well today was a day that has emotional worn me out. Brittany was sitting on my kitchen chair which is by my computer. I was standing right next to her mind you. She had my camera and took the batteries out so I was putting the batteries back in and she was moving herself. I remember her sitting against my desk and the next thing I know she is lying on her back on the floor. I have no idea what in the world happend. I picked her up and she was trying to cry but couldn’t breathe. I kept telling her to breathe. I laid her down on my bed and her eyes rolled back into her head and her little body was stiff. Dakota lightly shook her and said Brittany breathe she came back to and her eyes rolled back into her head and her body was stiff.

Good Morning! It’s been a while since I talked about what was going on with Dakota. Last week I had a meeting with the case worker for the county who over sees Dakota’s case being on the waiver program. She brought a program that will kind of work on his social needs and socialization. I didn’t think that going after school during the week was right for the time being as Dakota is really set in his ways about his routine with going to school and coming home.
