This week went by so fast but ended on a really fun note for the kids. We actually got away for a night and I even got to tie homeschool into our get away! I love when I can do that. What’s even more I love that the kids had fun! I am waiting patiently for the end of the month to come so I can order our new curriculum for the year.
Welcome to another look into our crazy busy homeschool week. This week was crazy with appointments! Next week is crazy with appointments and we have another Yippe Conference next weekend. One more after this one. This one should be a lot of fun though. However, that hasn’t happened yet so we can’t talk about it. LOL
Do your children love reading adventures? If so they will love Orphs of the Woodlands at Tangletree by Star Toaster. This reading app is geared for kids 7 and up. This is a chapter book and so much more.
Orphs of the Woodlands at Tangletree incorporates not only reading comprehension, but vocabulary and other fun subjects into your child’s learning. It is a 122 pages long. It does have very cute graphics throughout the chapters. When I said it incorporated other subjects I meant it. There are 75 lessons on math, science, grammar, vocabulary, thinking skills, and the arts.
For the past few weeks my children have had fun practice language and math concepts using the Complete Home Learning Suite by Essential Skills Advantage. This is a nice supplement to add into your homeschool. The subjects covered are math, reading, language & grammar, science and geography. The grades that this is geared for is K – 6.
My daughter absolutely loves science. She loves to be able to watch videos and do some hands on activities while she learns. We’ve been using Rainforest Journey, a fun online science program from EdTechLens as part of my daughters day. My daughter is currently in 2nd grade.
EdTechLens is a one year online subscription to the Rainforest Journey for grades K – 5. The Rainforest Journey teaches on life science. It is based up on 34 lessons. This is theme based and covers the same topics for each grade, however the complexity increases with each grade. There are activities, worksheets, assessments, interviews with scientists and naturalists, video clips of plant and animal life, pictures, and reading.
