My daughter has a love for reading. It doesn’t matter what we are reading she loves it. We recently had the chance to review The Bears on Hemlock Mountain E-Guide by Progeny Press. This particular literature study guide is for grades 1 – 3. I did receive the E-Guide as a pdf download. I purchased the book separately.

Sentence Diagramming: Beginning – The Critical Thinking Co. Review

Sentence Diagramming Review

I remember being a kid and having to learn the different parts to sentence diagramming. I don’t think I really liked it back then to be honest. Grammar wasn’t one of my best subjects. However, the one thing we have been working on is sentences and sentence structure. So I was really excited to see that The Critical Thinking Co. had a book out called Sentence Diagramming: Beginning for review. This particular book can be used with grades 3 – 12. It was interesting to see that my daughter is the total opposite of what I was back in school. She actually really enjoys this!

Jolly Review

If your looking for a good reading program to teach your younger child how to read I highly suggest checking out Jolly Phonics as it teaches phonics in a systamatic way. This is for an elementary school level.

Jolly Phonics uses a multi sensory approach in their teaching. There are actions for 42 letter sounds, which to me is a great way to remember their letters and sounds. It teaches children to learn their letters in sound order. It also teaches children 5 keys skills for reading and writing to be successful:
