Update: Doctors Update and Kind of Left Hanging….

Last weekend we went down to Children’s Hospital to see the neurologist. Thursday we saw our psychiatrist. If you have been following my posts you know that I have been dealing with a lot of behavior issues. Some of them have really taken their toll. In a small sense I see the behavior improving a little bit.

Neurologist Visit and Now More Doctors

Well this week we went to see the Neurologist for our 6 month check up. We have to go back in 6 months again. I am very disappointed that the blood work results were not available to me. I would have liked to know where Dakota’s levels were.

We didn’t see the neurologist we saw one of the nurse practitioners that I really am not crazy about. This is why I don’t like Children’s in Milwaukee because I find most of them rude. She saw how bad Dakota’s tick in his shoulders were and she said that she doesn’t want to make no changes because of two meds he is on. She told me to get him off them. I was really annoyed with this.

Back from the Neurologist and Doing Well

Well Monday night I left to head down to Milwaukee the night before our Neurologist appointment. We stayed with my aunt and uncle for a couple days. We had a really awesome time. On our way down we saw three rainbows. Dakota used my iphone to catch the pictures.

The weather there was gorgeous too. On Tuesday afternoon we spent time outside. Brittany blew bubbles and we tried to fly one of her little kites that she got for Christmas but there wasn’t enough wind.

Neurologist Appointment

Today Dakota had his neurologist appointment. Things seem to be going well. We discussed the frequent headaches and of course nothing new I am hearing but chalk it up to stress. Sigh… Kinda of sick of hearing the word stress. We also talked about the tremors and he went over Dakota’s case before we came in and said that he does have a history of them and he would let our primary Doctor know what drugs we can treat him with. However we talked more about it and Dakota will always have tremors the good thing is they can’t hurt him. He will have good days and bad days. That’s ok! We decided for now to opt out of meds as we don’t know how long he would be on them or if this is a life thing. He was also very comfortable with the meds. Dakota is on a low dose of seizure meds so that was a plus to hear also. He told me to pull Dakota’s finger if I think he is having a seizure if he doesn’t respond we know it’s a seizure. I never knew that before so I learned something new. We will see him again in one year and we will then do an EEG. So that appointment was very positive.
