A Week In Our Homeschool – Week 5 – A Little STEM Fun

I can’t believe we are  5 weeks into the year already. Time just goes by so fast. We did have an interesting week with some fun things that were added. I even reorganized my living room. I don’t know about you, but my homeschool stuff is scattered through out my house. I just need to get some better lighting and I will have an area in the living room to use for homeschool. It looks so organized now and not cluttered. It’s amazing how different an area looks when your able to make space. The next project to tackle will be my craft closet as I want to move some of it to the bins in the living room. My craft stuff is scattered through the house as well. In all honesty I can’t wait to find a bigger house! For now I am going to make use of our new space.

A Week In Our Homeschool – Week 3 – Too High of Expectations??

I can’t believe we are 3 weeks into January already. This month is going by so incredibly quick. We had a really great week of schooling. Although there was somethings that I realized this week that were kinda heart wrenching and disappointing in a way. As a special needs mom, I want the best for my kids. I also want to set expectations so that they can do the things that they want to do. I also want to prepare them for whatever comes next.

Woodland Dunes Nature Study – Monarch Butterflies – How to make Seed Bombs for Butterfly Gardens

Woodland Dunes Nature Study

Thursday we went on an amazing field trip to Woodland Dunes in Two Rivers, WI. The nature study this month was about Monarch Butterflies. We were there a total of two hours. It started out where we met at the nature center. We left there to drive about 5 minutes away to hike on one of the trails.

5 Days of Craft – Day 3 – Cute Birdseed Treats

5 Days of Crafts

Welcome to Day 3 of of the 5 Days of Crafts. I thought it would be fun to add a little fun into our week trying different crafts we haven’t done before. The kids end the day with a little fun. Today’s craft was not my idea. The actual craft is called Birdseed Biscuit.

These would be a great addition if you were trying to attract birds for a nature study. It’s also nice to see the birds eat the treats that you made them.
