Our Week Of Homeschool – Great Week Even Being Sick

I think we are getting closer to our normal again. I guess I was sicker then I though over Thanksgiving. I caved and finally went in to the doctor on Tuesday. I couldn’t handle waking up in the middle of the night coughing my brains out any longer. The humidifier wasn’t helping and the Tylenol  Severe Cold wasn’t helping. I suppose maybe it would have if I could take a full dose. I had to half dose it because I am not really suppose to be taking anything with decongestants in it. I ended up with swollen glands, my ears were swollen I guess, sinus infection, and bronchitis. Lucky I didn’t end up with pneumonia. I have taken all my meds…I am starting to feel better although my ears still kinda hurt. So not sure what is up with that. I still have coughing fits here and there but nothing like I had. I am able to sleep better. YEAH!!

Our First Skate-A-Thon Was Lots Of Fun

Most of you that read the blog or know me, know that my daughter has taken a big liking to ice skating. She first saw ice skating while we were watching the Olympics. So we took her to a homeschool ice skating session and she has loved it ever since. Shortly after her first time on the ice we signed her up for U.S. Figure Skating Learn To Skate lessons.

Joyful Moments – Sibling Bonding Time

Joining in on Joyful Moment at Little Homeschool Blessings.

This week my oldest son is home for a visit. Last night he came to watch his sister ice skate for the first time. He was amazed at her speed on ice skates. We both noticed that she seems to like to be first. She needs to listen a little more and slow down so she can master the skills in these lessons. If she would slow down she would have them nailed. Well the first 30 minutes are the lesson and the last 30 minutes is free skate. She didn’t want to skate but was super excited when my oldest said he would get on the ice. He asked her to teach him what she had learned.

Park Time and Yes More Ice Skating

Yesterday was a really trying day. No not because of the kids but because of some other obstacles we ran into. After we figured everything out we decided to head to Green Bay early.

We took the kids to a park we haven’t been to before. The park was very nice. On one side it had a place for kids ages 3 – 6 to play. The other side was for kids ages 6 and up. It was spaced out nicely. It was warm but not humid thankfully, and there was a nice breeze. It was nice to see the kids playing with other kids and having fun.

A Mom Can Dream

While we were watching the figure skating during the Olympics, I found my daughter really engrossed into watching. She all of a sudden got up and leaned forward and put her leg in the air and said Mommy  I can do that too.

Well last week Friday we went on a field trip ice skating with other homeschoolers. My daughter really liked it. So I asked her if she wanted to take ice skating lessons.

I picked up a pamphlet from the US Figure Skating and I called the number. I spoke with a wonderful person there who took the time to explain the different levels and competitions. We talked about skates that would support her ankles.
