I was just browsing through the news articles in Wisconsin about Autism and Governor Doyle has not made it a requirement for insurance companies to cover the diagnosis and treatment of autism. This will lift some of the burden off the counties as the county waivers pay for the therapy for autistic kids. Now don’t quote me as I might have misread this the insurance companies will cover only the ABA Therapy, which is Applied Behavior Analysis. I don’t agree with this as other theories such as Greenspan, which is a play therapy also work to benefit autistic kids. So it’s not 100% but even if it can take the burden of those that are on the waiting list to receive services they can now get in faster.  Read more...
