DIY Water Clock

DIY Water Clock

We have been working on a unit study with Robots. One of the things that I thought was pretty neat was we made a water clock. Making your own Water Clock is easy and the nice thing is you can incorporate doing things to see how long it takes you.

The Ancient Egyptians made water clocks that were bowls filled with water and it had small holes that the water would leak out. This was used to tell time. There were lines in the bowl that they were able to see where the water level was to be able to tell the time.

How To Make The Softest Playdough Ever

Softest Playdough

In a way I was glad we lost it as it gave us some time to do things to get away from all that screen time. My daughter and I have been wanting to make different types of play dough. I came across a soft play dough that only required 2 ingredients. My daughter spent hours playing with the play dough.

How To Paint A Lady Bug Rock

My daughter has been wanting to paint a lady bug on a huge rock she found down at the beach. So I thought it would be fun if each week I publish a How-to YouTube video with step by step directions of different kids crafts. This week you are in for a treat as I am posting a second video this weekend. It will be an ocean/summer theme. This first week was a test for me to get use to the editing. I still have things to figure out such as the music and other things. It is work in progress.

DIYOCEANPAPERMACHE.jpg

We have been working on our ocean and theme and one of the things we have recently made was a paper mache whale. Both my kids are working on an ocean theme, however my daughter was working on the Blue Whale. I had my son make one as we are working on sensory issues. He does not like gooey things and he doesn’t like his hands sticky.
