Dr. Suess is celebrating his 75th anniversary. Did you know that the very first Dr. Suess book arrived in bookstores in 1937? And To Think That I Saw It On Mulberry Street was the first book released. However, this book had a different title back then called “A Story Noone Could Beat”.
And To Think That I Saw It On Mulberry Street is a story about a boy named Marco. Marco walks to school taking Mulberry Street and is always looking for something interesting to tell his dad. Marco gets bored as he always sees the same horse drawn wagon, so he envisions much more exciting events, and each one is more spectacular then the last. The horse and wagon turn into a zebra charioteer, then to an elephant with a sleigh, Marco’s imagination goes on a wild ride down Mulberry Street.
