Starting Some New Family Memories With A Year of Painting

PicMonkey Collage

Lately I have been doing a lot of thinking. I think that all of us spend way to much time on electronics. I have been wanting to make more memorable moments with the kids. I don’t want them to grow up and say well I spent so much time on playing video games we didn’t do anything fun. In fact I try to remember things my parents and I did and I can’t but that was only because my parents owned a bar and it wasn’t always easy for them to get away. So we have been adding in more game nights and going places just to get out of the house.

Painting is Relaxing – My results to Hart Party Spring Blossom Tutorial

PicMonkey Collage

This has been one week that I am glad that it is over. I am hoping that next week is much better and more positive week!  It has been a pretty relaxing day. I wanted to do something with my daughter that would give her a great memory. Today we decided that we were going to paint. We picked out a tutorial from Cinnamon Cooney’s YouTube Channel.

Time To Myself Today To Paint

Today is the first day in a long time that I had the afternoon to myself. My husband took the kids to an archery shoot today. So I decided to get my cleaning done and try working on a acrylic paint tutorial.

If you are wanting to try acrylic painting, looking for a new style, or just want to learn I highly suggest checking out Cinnamon Cooney on YouTube. She also has a facebook page as well and you can find on her youtube channel. She is such an upbeat person. She is very encouraging. I like how she says that three things can be wrong: teacher, brush, or paint. I don’t think my problem painting was the teacher. She does the instruction very well. She does the painting along with you. My problem is I am still learning and don’t fully understand the brush strokes.

Beautiful Paintings and I Have One!!

On Monday, which was Labor Day, we went to my inlaws. This was the kick off to our yearly family reunion. It was rather nice to see everybody. A few couldn’t make it which I was kind of disappointed. We grilled out and each person brought something for pot luck. Lots of delicious food choices it balanced just right.

My mother inlaw gave each of us a painting. We each got to pick out our own painting. She has many beautiful paintings and she can be found I think on Fine Art or Arts America.
