RIP Laptop….

Well a week ago I woke up to my mouse in between my laptop screen and my keyboard. I never got up so quick in my life. I opened up the laptop to see what was going on and I knew after just looking at the screen it was broke. The laptop was on and there were black dots and the picture looked like cracked glass with lots of lines going all different directions. When you turned the laptop off there were huge black dots. I ran to my husband and started crying. My laptop was only a month old. My daughter looked at me and started crying too. I had Dakota hugging me saying I am sorry your laptop was broken.

I don’t know exactly what happened but I have a general idea. Brittany who mind you is almost 2, put the mouse in between the screen and keyboard and I believe she tried to close it.

I quickly got all my warranty information and called Acer. I had a feeling that it wouldn’t be covered under warrenty but since I didn’t know what exactly happened I decided to call. I wasn’t really happy with me paying to ship it to them as it cost me almost $30.00 and that was with packaging. I was told they would ship it back to me at their cost.

I must say that I was rather pleased with how fast Acer’s repair department contacted me. They called the same day that my computer got there. Now that is really fast and impressive. Since the pressure points were broke in the screen it is considered my fault and I need to pay to fix it. Well it’s going to cost $199 to fix it. So since I can’t fix it right away my poor little one month old laptop will have to sit in a box until hopefully next month until I can get it fixed.

I really loved my Acer Aspire AS7736Z-4088 laptop. It had a 17.3 inch screen and had HD technology. The screen and picture were fantastic. I loved Windows 7. Although it took some time to get used to. The picture on the screen was so clear. With the first Acer that I ever had the only complaint I had was the sound. There is no problem with the sound on this lap.

So Acer I really have no complaints. By far you have exceeded my expectations on your repair depeartment. The only thing is I am still debating if I want to pay 200 dollars to fix it when the laptop was 500. I mean it’s almost half the cost. If I can afford it I will be fixing it next month although other priorities must come first. Until then my laptop….RIP

That sucks….it really does. My boys are bigger, but I still worry about the younger one doing something to my laptop. He keeps asking to borrow it to play dual player game with his brother, but I have visions of him breaking something that isn’t under warranty.

YIKES!! Sorry to hear about that. Sometimes it’s just cheaper to go and buy a new one actually. But I don’t know on this one. Even though it’s half the price, you have already shipped it to them and they have it correct? So what happens if you say no. They ship it back and then you are going to have to turn around and send it back again? How long will the keep it for you before shipping it back unfixed? Just some thoughts :)

Yeah they are suppose to be sending it back so I am going to have to pay to ship it to them. I won’t get it fixed until next month that is I have to make sure everything is paid and priorities are met before I get it fixed. I am pretty sure it will be next month. I sure do miss my laptop. I had a lot of things in there that I really needed and now I can’t access it. So I am a little frustrated.

Oh mama…I feel your pain! I have bought two new keyboards because I left my laptop out and the twins got a hold of it and popped all the keys off. I tell you…its an expensive price we pay. I hope you get it fixed.

LOL Well at least I am not the only one who has done that :)
