Remembering 9/11

I just wanted to stop for a second and remember 9/11 for all those who lost their lives. My heart goes out to the families! I will never ever forget what happened. I remember we turned the TV on and I said that is New York. At first I just thought a plane lost control and then we saw the second plane hit the tower. My son was just getting ready for school. My eyes were peeled to the news for days. My heart was heavy and I must admit I was afraid. I didn’t personally know anybody.

I know that my husband was part of the reserves and I had many sleepless nights when I heard they were activating the reserves. I remember talking to his Captian and he said you would know it had to be bad if they were activated as he was part of a drill sargent unit. Well his unit was activated. He wasn’t a drill Sargent at the time so he didn’t go. They were sent somewhere down south to help train troops. It was such a mess.

Every time I hear these songs to this day it brings tears to my eyes and I get the chills.

Thank you to all the Fire, Police, EMT, Military for all that you do!
