Poor Dakota
Well yesterday Dakota was saying his ears hurt and I took him to the Doctor. The Doctor looks in the ear that wasn’t hurting and said to Dakota are you sure your ear isn’t hurting? Dakota said No. Dr said that was one mean ear infection he had in that ear and he was afraid to look in the ear that was hurting. Looked in the other ear and that was infected too.
While I had the Doctor in there I told him about Dakota’s EKG he looked in it with a concerned face and then said there were two abnormalities that were borderline. I shouldn’t be worried. Well that wasn’t good enough for me. I called the Dr that ordered the EKG and they are setting him up for another one on Monday. I asked the nurse to explain it to me in more detail. It had something to do with the way the ventricle opened and closed. I don’t remember what the other one was. They said there was a delay time. They lowered one of the meds of Dakota’s. I am not liking it one bit. Don’t get me wrong I am glad they lowered it but the dose it’s at isn’t working so I can tell that we are going to have a med change soon.
I am curious to know if stress has caused this abnormality or not. If it did I told the nurse I almost feel like it’s my fault because I put him back in school and he is so stressed. I know it’s not my fault as we didn’t know all this would happen. It totally stinks. I am worried and I can’t wait to hear the next EKG report. I really don’t want to add anything to the list of things gone wrong.
Dakota goes back to the Doctor in 2 weeks to check his ears. They must have been really bad. So he stayed home and drove me nuts. He was a motor mouth today. He even talked to the Doctor which was strange because he never does. He clams up and we did nothing different. Yesterday he was asking to go to the Doctor so I knew something was wrong.
We aren’t doing much of anything here this weekend except relaxing and cleaning. We might even start Dakota’s homework for next week so he doesn’t have to do it. Remember Dakota starts a half day next week. This will be interesting. I hope Monday that when we go to the Doctor it’s the same guy that takes Dakota in and does the EKG. Dakota really liked him. Which is odd because Dakota normally likes no one that is in a Doctor’s office.
Brittany is driving me nuts taking off diapers. She knows she is wet now so she takes them off. Today she went potty in the big potty. She fell in the second time she tried it. I couldn’t help but laugh. I know it’s not funny but it was. She really is showing an interst so I am going to have to push the potty more now.

Poor Dakota… and poor you. I hope his ear infection gets better soon and that his second EKG results will be ‘all clear.’
My son climbed up onto the toilet to get to something and one foot fell in; he froze and called out to me. When I saw him there, I couldn’t help but burst out laughing – hard! –it was the funniest sight, but I had to hold in the laughter because he obviously did not find it funny!

LOL! Too funny. I would have grabbed my camera but my daughter was in tears. She literally got herself stuck. Go figure. I am hoping this potty training picks up a little faster. We are not going through diapers like water because she knows when she is wet just can’t always make the connection she has to go.
Bless his little heart! That poor guy can’t catch a break
WOW look at Brit go
literally…haha…Elise will NOT sit on the toilet without one of those kid rings in there. But she also won’t sit on a lil potty seat because she says they are “too little for me Mom”! So yeah we are running around naked(ok just HER) and going potty like every 30 min. I feel your pain there..haha…But we are getting pretty succesful. I dont’ know if Brit will be different but when I put those training pants on ELise she would pee in them too. I think because they are so thick and hit her the same, you know on the leg as a diaper…so we put her in BIG girl panties..nice and thin..and sure enough took 1 pee accident and now she heads to the bathroom early! Good luck! We are doing much better with Elise than Gannon. He is getting the hang of it, but he won’t sign before he goes..so yeah…oh well…haha
Hope you guys can enjoy this weekend! I will come back and check on ya next week and see how Dakota is handling his half days

I read that about Gannon and Elise today and their potty training. How awesome! They both sound like they are doing great with it. I have to figure out the timing for Brittany. I know she is going to go through the pull ups too. Hmmm I don’t know if she is to young for undies.
Aw, I hope Dakota feels better soon and everything works out for the best. Hang in there mom!
Good luck with the potty training. That’s on our to do list too.

Thank you! I am just thrilled she is into going potty it’s the taking off diapers and running around that drives me nuts. LOL
Well poor Dakota. I suffered with my ears while I was growing up as well. Wasn’t fun. I think that is too funny about Brittany LOL

Brad went through a lot of ear infections when he was younger and had tubes. The joys of potty training.
UGH, I am dealing with our first ever ear infection now, in addition to croup.
I feel so bad for poor Dakota. I get that once he goes home these teachers/school don’t think about him anymore, but it SHOULDN’T be that way. And if it is stress, honey it isn’t your fault. You are a WONDERFUL advocate for him!

We just went through the croup thing not long ago. it sucks monkey butt. I know it’s not my fault it just sucks because I pulled him out and put him back in and it sucks. It’s just so frustrating when I feel so helpless. All the shut downs after school and before school now.
Wow, you’ve really got your hands full! Parenting is so demanding isn’t it? Three years ago, I had two in diapers and one who was a total wild child. It was nuts and I was home with them. Things have gotten a bit easier, but I know this is just the lull before the teen years hit.
Good luck and keep us posted on Dakota’s EKG.

All the kids are getting ear infections in your house. Maybe there is a reasone fot it.
DO YOU SMOKE IN THE HOUSE?
They say that smoke is a big cause of ear infections. But what do I know, I’m just your DAD and we all know that are parents don’t know anything.
Oh, poor Dakota. It must really be painful and could no longer bare the pain.
I wish everything will be fine.
