No Fear

I meant to write this on Friday but got sidetracked with other things around here. Most of you know that my 8 year old son has autism. Well this child has absolutely no fear of anything. Yes he likes to climb trees and for a while it was only this small tree in my neighbors yard. Well now he decided to move on to bigger and better things. I have two huge  birch trees in my front yard. Well one is kinda easy to climb if you have a little help like a chair. Well I seen him climbing and the one limb of the tree is ok. He makes his way a little higher and higher and I am running out the door screaming get down your going to seriously hurt yourself. I have tried to put a height limit well guess my height limit isn’t good enough. So he decides to move the little kiddo picinic table to the other tree to climb that. Well he came in the house and I said where did you get the rash on your face. Oh mom I fell out of the tree. SCREECH!!  Well that’s not the topper to what he did! He was walking along the sidewalk pacing as he wanted to go by the girls across the street and I had said no as they were spending time with their Grandpa and working in the garden. Well I don’t see Dakota out there but I see these patio trees next to the stop sign. So I thought I better go out there and check. Well I walk over to the sign on the corner to get the chairs and I look up. Guess who is sitting right on top the street signs…. Yep you guessed it Dakota. I freaked I didn’t think I would get him to come down. I prayed that my neighbors didn’t see him up there. I think the young guy across the street did. This child has no fear and really I think he can be a danger to himself. No matter how much I watch him and redirect him it isn’t working… I think I will be grey before I am 40.

They all do things at one time or another to worry us. What a blessing it is to have our babies. Hope you are having a great weekend.

That little boy was out there tonight hammering and making a ladder. Now mind you it’s not safe as it is huge and moves all over…. sigh… He really is creeping me out. He has no idea the concept of safety.
