My Daisies Are Rockstars!!

Author: The girls in my Daisy troop so rock! I am so proud of them today! This is the second week we have been making valentines for a nursing home/rehabilitation center. We needed 110 Valentines. Well one of my girls sat and made 40 Valentines all on her own. She so rocks!! A couple others made some too. I was really thrilled about that. One of the girls came up to me before the meeting and said I have something for you. So I opened it. She made me the cutest little Valentine! I am putting it on my fridge!
It wasn’t just my troop I had asked two other troops to help with the Valentines as I didn’t think my troop alone could make that many in two meetings. Another Daisy troop helped out and a Cadet troop. The cadet troop made 27 cards while they were at a scrapbook workshop. Which I can’t wait to see the creativity that went into those cards.
The left over Valentines will go to a place for Special Needs and if there is any left over after that I will take them to the hospital for people in the long term care unit.
The girls had to bring in their cookie forms today. One of the girls sold 415 boxes. I think that is the most one girl has sold in our troop. She was so excited so my response was You are a ROCKSTAR!! She turned red and smiled. She was so happy and excited and proud of herself. The girls worked hard in selling their cookies and I am so proud of them.
I was one of 10 leaders that was interviewed by the local paper. They stopped by tonight to take a picture of the girls with their cookie sheets. I can’t wait to get the paper tomorrow. The photographer told them they would be in the paper. So we will see.
The girls earned the caring and consideration badge for all the Valentines they made. We talked about how we can be caring and considerate of others. I love the faces on them when they are getting a badge. They are so proud.
My Daisies so ROCK!!

Daisies are Kindergarten and First Grade Girl Scouts. They are riot and are so much fun.

I am not pictured in the paper but my girls are. The Daily Advocate. I have to go look in the kitchen it’s the Sturgeon Bay paper. I am really not happy with the article at all. From my point of view they make it sound like we write checks to organizations. That’s not all these girls do to give back to the community. They do so much more then that. I am seriously thinking of writing a letter to the editor as far as explaining that we are not writing checks to organizations but we give back in many ways then they went into the cookie sale. I thought was just tacky.
That is such a great idea, so thoughtful!

Thanks Vicki. One of them moms took ours to the nursing home as she works there. I have to get to town next week to deliver the rest.
