MOM VS Little Miss Houdini

Well for the last week my daughter has been giving me grief. The little stinker decides that she doesn’t want to wear diapers. Well I put regular clothes on her and she doesn’t want them on and off comes the diaper and low and behold she decides she has to pee on my floors.

Well I thought I was smarter then that so I started putting on zipper pajamas with the feet. Well that little stinker has figured out zippers and off comes the diaper and low and behold she decides she has to pee.

So yesterday and today I have used my little swimmers and told her if she has to go potty to tell mommy and we go potty. Well you say potty and she runs to the door. Yeah at 18 months I don’t think she is going to say those golden words “Mommy I gotta go potty”. Much less can she talk in sentences. LOL

Today I used the pull ups and little swimmers more and we ventured to the potty. We must have sat on the big potty 15 minutes a crack. Nope no potty. All full of smiles sitting there though like a good girl.

We get done and no later does she take that darn pull up/little swimmer off. Sigh…. So I figured jammies and a diaper. After she took it off a million times and mommy putting them back on a million times I turned to my twitters friends.

One suggested duct tape. I thought about for a moment when and got a piece of duct tape and taped over the front tabs. Well you see Little Miss Houdini is smarter then that she peeled it right off. I didn’t think she would figure it out.

Well now I thought hmmm This time I got three pieces of duct tape and went around her whole waste. Let me tell you that diaper has NOT come off.

I have to laugh every time I look at her because I don’t think my boys did that to me. At least now I don’t have to clean up pee and wash my floor constantly.

Temporary fix until Friday when Little Miss Houdini gets her potty chair.

Please note in the pictures there was no harm done to Little Miss Houdini. The wrap was not tight.  Please not that the pen she has is not open and as soon as I took the picture I had the pen in my hands.

My last girl did take off her clothes at night, but she would stop at her diaper. But I might have used duct tape too. That is my go to tool;)

    Have a Happy Thanksgiving!!

I know my mom used to tell me that my sister did this. She used to use zipper pj’s too but would cut out the feet (they no longer fit) and would put them on backwards. Good luck!

That is a great idea Tracee! I never thought about that. I have a little cover that snaps over the zipper on two pj’s and she hasn’t figured out those yet.

My eighteen-month-old girl have their diapers off all the time — they love to get into their dirty diapers and have it all over their bed and themselves. Everyone keeps informing me to potty train them now, but my precious isn’t speaking. How can I teach when my baby can’t even say to me when it’s toilet time? any suggestioms orhelp?

LOL Mine only played with hers once. It was a gross and icky mess. I am wondering if 18 months is early but the doctor said go ahead and start. I say potty and she knows what it is. She just hasn’t gone on it yet to make the connection. It’s going to be a long long journey!

Thankyou for the laughs… and the walk down memory lane! I used to ducktape the girl I babysat’s diaper onto her! She kept taking her diaper off and throwing it (and its contents) across the room. It drove me crazy!

Wowzers! She is much more serious about this then mine daughter, thankfully! Elise doesn’t like her diaper but yet has no desire to go on the potty chair. So after sitting there for a min, she asks for a diaper back…haha…good luck! We are kinda waiting on this deal with Elise til after the new year. I know she isn’t ready yet so not going to fight her. Good luck!

I don’t think Brittany is quite ready yet! However I shall keep trying and encourage but I won’t make it a battle or she will not ever want to do potty train.

This is too hilarious. Goodness she is a cutie! I have also heard to get an old pair of feetie zip up pajamas and cut off the feet and put them on backwards. Seems like it may be uncomfortable, but I have heard it from more than one person.

Somebody else mentioned that. She is doing pretty good keeping her diaper on for the mosts part. But I do struggle with her taking it off and she goes right to the potty then. No sucess yet!
