This week was Wi UPCI Ladies Retreat! It was held in Appleton at the Paper Valley Hotel. The theme was Covered, and the stage was decorated with beautiful yellow, pink, and blue umbrellas. The speakers were Vani Marshall and Melanie Shock. Both of these ladies were absolutely wonderful. I am still processing the last three days!

I was walking looking through books and I found not one special needs parenting book or a book of devotions for special needs parenting. You wouldn’t really find a special needs parenting book, but you would find some sort of devotions you would think. One thing that was placed on my heart was that I need to write one. I already have the first verse and an idea of what I would like to write. It will take me a while. I am not the type of person who prays out loud and I don’t feel like my prayers flow well. I admire the ladies who were speaking on stage. Their prayers flow beautifully. There is a point to them. They  know just what to say. I am not at that point yet. I know in time I will get there. So this book will probably take me a while to write. That’s ok 🙂

I also had something put on my heart about a special needs moms retreat. I am pretty sure many of us feel burned out and sometimes  you have to admit your faith is pushed to the limit. Wouldn’t it be nice to get support and meet other moms for a nights get away to do fun things. Have a service in the morning. I think it would be rejuvenating, faith restoring, and so much more. I have to pray a little more. I did talk to one of the ladies who did the speaking. She said that  it takes one person, with one idea to make things go. She asked me, “What are you going to do about it?”. I know some of what I need to do but need to pray on the rest. I know who I need to contact as well.

I had the chance to meet a couple special ladies at this retreat. One was a homeschooling mom and the other was a mom of special needs. It was nice to be able to share a common interest. It was nice to run some ideas past them and feel like I was in the right direction in my thoughts.

I feel so very inspired from this weekend. If I wasn’t still processing what was said at Ladies Retreat I would share some of the topics of what I have learned. It was amazing.
