Healthy Living Ear Thermometer Review
Healthy Live Ear Thermometer by Samsung America

Well I purchased this item as my daughter HATES having a thermometer put in her armpit. She can’t stand sitting that long with someone holding her arm so it don’t fall out. So I went on Amazon and decided to buy a Ear Thermometer I figured they were faster and would be just as accurate.
I was really excited when I heard this product had a high fever alarm, that it was quick, and had a 9 memory reading.
Well I must say I am really disappointed with this thermometer. It’s not accurate at all. My son has a fever today of 100. Do you want to know what the ear thermometer told me? 94.8. Now some of you might ask is your thermometer broke. Nope it’s not. I have three different digital ones in this house.
I feel like I have wasted my money. Yeah the thing is quick I will give them that. Very far from accurate if you ask me.
I am going to email the company and see what they have to say.

I am so glad you posted this! I purchased a similar ear thermometer two years ago and spent over $40.00. It NEVER showed the correct temperature and we always ended up using the good old fashioned one. Awesome that you are writing them. Can’t wait to hear the response.

It’s a shame they don’t work like they are suppose to. I love the ones from the doctors office that are so quick. I should get the 6 second thermometer I saw at Woodmans. Guess when I go to Green Bay this week I will be doing that. I just wrote them a little bit ago. Will let you know what the response was.

We also had an ear thermometer and it never was accurate either. It wasn’t this brand. I forgot which brand it was, but wasn’t good. So when it ran out of batteries, I pitched it.
I hear they have ones for the foreheads! But for right now we just use the trusty under the arms thermometer:)

My dad bought a cheap ear thermometer. It actually it is very close to accurate. Which I was shocked. I was looking at the forehead one as my next option. Your the second person Vickie that says that same thing as I did.

I am thinking about buying the new forehead one. I have had an ear one for years and it drives me nuts. They do not read a correct temperature unless you take the top highest part of the ear and pull it up and back from the head. Then you also have to have it aimed at the correct angle. This means that I end up taking my kids temps around 5 times so I can make sure that I really got the right temp. As you can imagine this is not fun for a sick child.

I too am thinking about the new forheard one Melissa. This cheapie my dad bought it has to beep for it to be angled right and then it scans. So far it is accurate. I will keep watching it of course. I would rather use the normal digi thermometer for now. I am leary now as I don’t want to waste my money any more.

You might want to take it to the store and see if you can a refund. Just tell them it doesn’t work and you don’t want another.

I have the same problem with fidgety kids so I also tried the ear thermometer. I don’t use it any more and bought the forehead one instead. So far, no complaints.

Glad I am not the only that has this and it didn’t work. I tried to contact the company but they didn’t respond.

I have this exact same thermometer and when my daughter had a fever it was reading 98-100 degree. This didn’t cause concern for the nurse when I called her and told her what was going on. But just as I hung up the phone with the nurse my daughter had a febrile seizure. It is one of the most terrifying moments of my life. I am for sure writing the company right now. This is one of the most important tools in a first aid kit and if is reading one degree off it could sent any child to the ER.

Christy that is really scary. My son has seizures and each one scares the crap out of me. Good Luck if you write them. I never heard a response from them.
