Halloween Playdough

I thought I would try something different with my daughter today. She is napping so I made some Halloween Playdough. I didn’t have food coloring so I couldn’t color it but no big deal. I really like how easy this is to make as well as the smell of it.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup salt
  • 2 tablespoons of cream of tarter
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
  • yellow and red food coloring

Directions:

  1. First figure out your consistency on the color by mixing yellow and red to get the desired orange color you are looking for.
  2. Next add all the ingredients and cook over medium heat until the dough forms.
  3. Cool on wax paper and then store in an air tight container.

Here is what it looks like:

After Brittany wakes up from her nap her and I will play with the playdough with cookie cutters and how ever else she wants too. I will take pictures!!

It’s really easy to make Karen! I love the fact I can store it and we can use it later. Wish I had to food coloring but that is ok. I will pick up some to have on hand for later use. I will post it Tuesday for All About Kids meme.

That sounds great! I have made homemade playdough before but it never smelled good. Am calling my daughter right now to tell her to make some for the grandkids today.

Hurray! I have been telling my little boy that we would make play dough for the last couple of weeks and I have been meaning to look for a recipe for a while. Thanks for the inspiration, I think we will do this tonight. I am excited and just needed a little motivation.
