“Food Brings People Together” – Red Gold Tomatoes Review and Giveaway

Red Gold Tomatoes Review and Giveaway

If you recently seen the new Red Gold Tomatoes TV ad, then you have seen that it highlights that food brings people together. Red Gold Tomatoes is a family owned and operated business. The best part about Red Gold Tomatoes is that it only works with local family farms to grow their great tasting tomatoes to ensure that our families are getting a product that has been grown with love and care.

If you noticed the TV ad then you have seen the main dish highlighted, that would be Lasagna. Lasagna is a great family friendly dish. In fact it is one our family favorites. I don’t make it often but when I do you can bet it doesn’t last long.

Red Gold Tomatoes is thrilled to share their 2nd Annual “Red Gold Simple Gourmet Lasagna Party” promotion that they are hosting with their friends over at Laura’s Lean Beef. Laura’s Lean Beef, is a Kentucky-based company that produces lean, natural beef from cattle that are humanly raised with out hormones and fed a natural diet of grass and grain. They are also a family run company.

“Red Gold Simple Gourmet Lasagna Party” runs from January 13 through February 3 on Facebook, they will be giving away 750 aprons and 6 Gourmet Lasagna Party Prize Packs which includes a Le Crueset Lasagna Pan. So make sure that you stop over at Red Gold Tomatoes Facebook Page to enter to win.

  • 1 28 oz can of Red Gold Crushed Tomatoes
  • A package of Lasagna Noodles
  • A Laura’s Lean Beef Apron

I will give you the All-In-0ne Lasagna Recipe by Red Gold Tomatoes. I changed it up a little bit and will tell you how I made mine after I post the recipe.

All -In-One Lasagna

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 28 oz can Red Gold Crushed Tomatoes or
  • 2 14.5 oz cans of Red Gold Diced Tomatoes with Basil, Garlic and Oregano
  • 1 tsp Italian Seasoning
  • Salt to Taste
  • 1 16 oz box of traditional lasagna noodle, uncooked
  • 1 15 oz container of ricotta cheese
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  1. Preheat oven to 350. In large mixing bowl combine water Red Gold Tomatoes, Italian Seasoning, and salt.
  2. Cover the bottom of a 9 x 13 x 2 inch baking pan with 1 1/2 cups of sauce mixture. Arrange 1/3 of the noodles on top of the sauce slightly overlapped. Top with 1/2 of the ricotta cheese, 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, and 1 cup sauce. Repeat layers and top with last 1/3 noodles and the remaining sauce. Sprinkle with remaining mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese.
  3. Cover tightly with foil and back for 1 to 1 1/2 hours until noodles are cooked. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.

I have to say that I am in love with the different flavors of the diced tomatoes and have been hooked ever since I tried Aioli for the first time. If you have never tried any of the flavored diced tomatoes by Red Gold Tomatoes, I highly suggest trying them in a recipe, whether it be aioli, lasagna, or spaghetti. They have so much flavor packed into the tomatoes as they are marinated in the juice!

I made my lasagna different. I had canned some sauce this summer and brought up a can. I had opened a can of the Red Gold Tomatoes Garlic, Onion, and Oregano and drained them. The next step was for me to puree the tomatoes and add them to my sauce. Ohhhh the smell and the flavor was heavenly! I also fried up 1 1/2 pounds of ground chuck and I sprinkled the Italian Seasoning on the ground chuck. I mixed the sauce and the meet together. I did also make layers as suggested in the recipe. I used all the cheese mentioned in the recipe and I baked mine for an hour and let it sit 10 minutes.

Let me tell you that the first night more then a half a pan was eaten by husband and son. I had a little piece but since I am watching what I eat I could eat this like I use too. They told me this was the best way I had ever made lasagna before. They had no idea that I added in extra tomatoes to my sauce. The extra flavor in it was really nice.

I was not able to use my coupon for Laura’s Beef as it is not sold where I live. I was a little bummed but that is ok. I am sure that it will make it here eventually ๐Ÿ™‚
