Father Daughter Dance – 50s Theme

The Service Area for Girl Scouts puts on a Father Daughter Dance every year. This year we decided to do a theme. It was absolutely amazing! The DJ of course was fantastic! He really gets the Dad’s up and dancing. This is the first year that my daughter went. She isn’t in Girl Scouts as she is too little, but some of the events I am lucky I can bring her to. She always has a blast.

This was when they first arrived. I had to get a picture of her and her dress. There were a few girls that dressed up in poodle skirts and some Dad’s did dress the the theme. It was really neat seeing the T Birds on the back of Leather Jackets and the Pink Ladies Jackets. I love the movie Grease! For the sake of privacy I can’t post some of those pictures.

She danced her little heart out. The dance started at 6 and ended at 9. I thought he would have taken her home early but she didn’t want to go. She wanted to stick around.

These were the carnations we were selling for Family Partnership. Family Partnership is a program that allows Girls to be in Girl Scouts who can’t afford it. It pays a part of her registration, dues, and her sash. It also provides scholarships for Council Events and Camping.  I think we reaised $78 dollars for our Family Partnership.

The one thing that made the night complete for her was being able to take home some balloons.

All I can say was it was an amazing night and I am really glad I got to be part of it.
