Collecting Thoughts

Author: Well tonight I sit here collecting some thoughts up. I am trying to write this post in between little “pig tails” coming in here and getting a little Gerber Graduate Veggie Snack Puff. LOL
I did email Dakota’s teacher on the bullying issue. She responded to it and told me that the school doesn’t tolerate nor does tolerate in her class. She would speak to the teachers and the students involved. She said Dakota needs to tell her as she didn’t know it was going on.
Well my response and thought to this was to ask Dakota why he didn’t tell his teacher. He supposedly told the kids teacher. Which this teacher is a crabby old biddy and I am so glad Dakota is not in her class. Second of all Dakota doesn’t feel totally comfortable with her to tell her apparently. That she has to realize. He does have autism and he isn’t always going to open up to every person. Just a select few.
Dakota has been running a fever off and on all week through out the day. Just when I think it broke it comes back. No other symptoms really. He is coughing a little bit. So we shall see tomorrow when I take him to the Doctor.
Me and Brittany on the other hand are sick. Let me tell you I don’t think very highly of the nurse practitioner in that office. There is actually two in that office and it’s the newer one that I don’t think is very professional. I was suppose to see the Doctor and when I got there they said he had some emergencies and I would have to see this nurse. Well my response was is I don’t like her. So the poor ladies paniced. I said it’s ok really I will suck it up and give her a second chance. Boy I am sorry I did.
She looked me over and prescribed me zithromax. I don’t know why she didn’t bother telling me. I didn’t ask because I was totally ticked off at how she handled Brittany. She couldn’t see in her ears because there was so much wax so instead of cleaning the wax out so she could see she said put the ear drops in and come back Monday. Umm what the heck? Guess she didn’t want to take the time to look in ears properly.
I got home and called the pharmacy to find out Brittany had no anti biotic. Her and I have the same symptoms. So when I go in tomorrow I am going to say something.
Brad informed me today that he maybe in cross country. Go Brad!! I was also told that it was homecoming weekend and my house maybe on the list of being toilet papered. Oh joy! Funny as he isn’t in high school yet.
So those are my thoughts!

Oh,rough days. I hope you and your kids will feel better soon.It’s really hard when someone in the family is ill, much more if it’s all of you. And it’s even harder when there are no reliable medical practitioners around. I’ve been under the weather too for 3 days now,and it really sucks. Here’s hoping for the best.

Well the doctor and the one nurse practioner I see are wonderful. This new one they got totally sucks! I will let them know it tomorrow. Hope you get to feeling better too!

Thanks Carielle! I know my daughter is very cranky still. She isn’t feeling well. I will write an update on Dakota in a little bit. I hope you get to feeling better.
Bullying is such an issue! I just commented on Karie’s blog, she just posted about this, too. It has got to stop!!!

How can anyone bully an autistic child? I would be so upset. Hope you guys get better soon. I am now following your blog.

Yes lets get the Bullying under control.No reason for it.Sometimes it is a matter of getting caught.They can be pretty sneaky at times.My wife and I got Flu shots and have both been sick since then.Crazy world isn’t it?

Every time we get the flu shots we get sick. We don’t do the flu shots any more. I hope you and your wife feel better. I have a good feeling the bullying will get under control.
Question: I have a 13-year-old Aspy son, and his father and I think it would be nice for him to get a sort of online penpal to chat with, especially since he loves being on the computer and his particular gift is writing. Do you know of a site or forum or something that assists in getting Aspy/autistic kids connected like this?

LOL Nope we weren’t toilet papered. WHEW!! All around town though it’s a mess. If I was better I would have went to the homecoming game.
Hi Stacie… I’m sorry to hear that you all are sick. We’ve had it for a week now… feeling better but still sick… it started with fever and cough… now it’s a full blown horrible congesting cold
… seems it’s really going around.
I hope that Dakota’s teacher can get the bullying issue under control… kids learn it so young… it’s really sad.

It’s been a week here too. I am tired of the chills and now this pesky cough. I hope you guys get to feeling better too.
I am sorry you are all passing around the yuckies. I am glad that Dakota’s teacher is willing to work on the bullying. I just wish teachers would pay more attention in general!

You would think they would pay more attention. When they have recess duty it’s kind of hard to watch everyone. It’s just a shame he has to go through this sort of thing. Hopefully it’s something that will pass quickly.
