Brittany Update

Author: Well this morning was our Doctor’s appointment. She looked over Brittany and said she looks great. No bumps, reacting great, not sluggish, no ear infections, everything was good. She said it’s possible that Brittany had a seizure before she fell out of the chair and it’s possible that she knocked the wind out of herself which caused the reaction. She said that if we wanted to have an EEG done to be sure we could. There was no wrong answer. I went back and forth on it all day. You see EEG’s are only the moment in time. Sure it might give me a little piece of mind. But I can’t say for me it would rule it out. I will then just continue to watch her after the eeg. I wouldn’t be thinking this if the EEG she had before didn’t show a slight abnormality. I feel it has to be done. My husband on the other hand thinks that she knocked the wind out of herself and it wasn’t neccessary but if I wanted to do it for peace of mind he was ok with it. See my husband doesn’t always say what’s on his mind. We went down this road with Dakota before and he was the same way. I think it’s just he doesn’t want to believe there is anything wrong.
Time will tell. They sent the referal over today so I am sure they will call me tomorrow to set up a time for the EEG. Brittany is doing great. Although she is running a low grade fever and coughing a little. So we did some snuggling today and we both took a nap. I am just watching her like a hawk. I am exhausted so I am behind on blog reading again. I will be catching up over the weekend. I hate missing out on things.

Thanks Storm. Brittany is doing better just a low grade fever.

Thanks VanillaSeven. Brittany is doing good. Maybe we will have some answers soon. One thing with the EEG is those in the moment and time so it really won’t give me full peace of mind but at least then I know all I have to do is watch her. I have been through seizures with Dakota so this is nothing new for me. It’s just rough watching your kids go through something like that.

Thanks Thom! The clinic hasn’t called yet. I am sure in the next day or two they will. They are really nice at the pediatric neurology clinic. Just with the Neurologist wasn’t on his fellowship right now. He is gone until July or August. Oh well this fellowship he is on will do great things when he comes back. I really admire the man as he has this hunger to learn as much as he can.
I like being on the safe side.Get the EEG for sure.Now for a hopefully positive note.It has been a terrible year for Virus’s.Maybe the fever is a virus.In any case I hope she gets well soon.

I think she just has a virus. It’s really low grade so I am not to worried. Your right there are virus’s out there like crazy. You go to the Doctors and it seems you pick up another one. At least thats how it has been in my house. We have been to the Doctors so many times over the last couple weeks.
I hope everything is ok with Brittany.

Thanks Nanette! She is doing better. The scare is over at least and soon I can have some peace of mind. Thanks for stopping by.
I’m so glad you posted the update because I just read your original post and got tears in my eyes over how scared you must have been. (It also made me a little mad about how the Chief kept telling you to calm down – hello? You didn’t know what was going on with your baby!)
Anyway, I definitely hope you have some peace of mind and the EEG shows all is well!

Thanks Xenia! She is doing really good and today she didn’t have a fever but has been a cranky little stinker all day. I was very scared I was shaking calling 911. The EEG will give me a little peace of mind but that is only for that moment in time. So I can’t say it won’t always stay in the back of my mind. But I just keep an eye on her.
Oh my friend…I wish I had words….I didn’t know how to comment to Brittany but I am so HAPPY to hear she is okay…time will tell and heal. I am here if you need anything and I totally understand the being better safe than sorry.

Thanks Karie. I been down this road before with Dakota so I really know what to expect. If she did have seizures they are treatable. I have a really good neurologist. Just wish he wasn’t out for a fellowship at the moment.
I hope you can find some answers – might as well get the EEG I don’t think it could hurt anything.

Thanks Sue! No your right it can’t hurt anything to get the EEG. I feel bad putting her through that but it has to be done.
I am glad you decided to do the EEG. I know it is only a moment in time….but it just MAY have an answer for you.
